Sounds familiar
What Ms Sumiko Tan told of her experience at a at local bank in the article titled ‘I’ll Stick to fixed deposits’ published on the 5th October 2008 issue of The Sunday Times just sound so familiar. I wrote of my own experience on the blog entry Worry for heartland uncles and aunties.
It was at the same bank (don’t think it was the same branch though). I ask about the same savings account that she was closing. The same modus operadi of the Relationship Manager (RM). 1 thing was different: she was introduced to a capital protected fund while I was recommended to a ILP policy. There was another difference: she bought the product while I did not. Coincidentally, I also blogged about the product she got in another entry Capital Protected is NOT Capital Guaranteed.
